In my Washington, D.C., office, internships run throughout the Fall, Spring or Summer semesters for qualified college juniors and seniors, or recent college graduates.
Duties include: answering phones, running errands, researching legislation for the Member and legislative staff, conducting Capitol tours, attending hearings and briefings, and answering constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the other functions of a congressional office.
Applicants should possess a great work ethic, proficient communication skills, and strong writing skills. Arkansas ties are ideal, but are not required. Interested candidates should e-mail their cover letter and resume to Alyssa Buentello at Alyssa.Buentello@mail.house.gov.
Applications for Fall 2023 are now closed.
In my Jonesboro office, interns may have a variety of duties, including such as answering phones, writing letters and assisting with media clips. In addition, interns may be assigned to assist in various constituent case work or work on District-based projects of importance. Interested candidates should e-mail their cover letter and resume Sherrie Mitchell at Sherrie.Mitchell@mail.house.gov.
