Congressman Crawford Joins Congressional Caucuses
Congressman Rick Crawford (R-Ark.) today announced he recently joined four Congressional caucuses to better serve Arkansans’ diverse economic interests.
“It is important I spend my time in Washington representing every aspect of Arkansas’s diverse economy,” said Congressman Rick Crawford. “These caucuses advance critical issues for Arkansas and I am proud to participate in furthering these worthy causes.”
Below is a brief description of each caucus:
Congressional Steel Caucus: The Steel Caucus represents the interests of the steel industry in Washington. This includes defending the industry against burdensome federal regulations, unfairly-traded imports, and illegal trade practices. Arkansas’s First Congressional District is one of the leading steel producing regions in the United States.
Mississippi Delta Caucus: Crawford is Vice Chairman of the bi-partisan Mississippi River Delta Caucus. The caucus gives the concerns of the Delta a voice in Washington by communicating with leaders from the Delta region and acting on their behalf. The caucus works to improve the economy and infrastructure of the Delta region.
Congressional Job-Creators Caucus: The Congressional Job Creators Caucus is a nonpartisan group made up primarily of businessmen and women working to create sound economic policy. The caucus focuses on improving the economy by forming policies that will create jobs and control federal spending.
C130: The C130 Caucus oversees the C130 Avionics Modernization Program, which is in the process of improving and standardizing the cockpit layouts of all 221 planes that make up the Air Force’s C130 fleet. The Little Rock Air Force Base houses a fleet of active-duty C130’s.
Congressman Rick Crawford is the first Republican elected to represent Arkansas’s First Congressional District since Reconstruction. He serves on the Agriculture and Transportation & Infrastructure Committees. Rick and his wife Stacy, both ASU alumni, reside in Jonesboro with their two children.
