JONESBORO, A.R.  Congressman Rick Crawford (AR-01) announced that the annual Congressional App Challenge, a competition designed to encourage student participation in computer science and coding, has officially opened. Students are encouraged to register online and submit their app to the Congressional App Challenge here by October 30, 2025.

This competition allows students to compete with their peers across the country by creating an application, also known as an “app”, for any computer or electronic device. The Congressional App Challenge is open to all high school students in Arkansas’s First Congressional District.

The winner from the First District will receive Amazon Web Services credits and an invitation to the House of Code reception this coming April in Washington, D.C., where winning teams from across the nation will be honored. The winning apps will be showcased on the U.S. House of Representatives and Congressional App Challenge websites and displayed in an exhibit at the U.S. Capitol Building.
