Crawford Launches 3rd Annual STEM & Manufacturing Tour

Jonesboro, AR –Today, Congressman Rick Crawford (AR-01) launched his 3rd annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and Manufacturers Tour in the 1st District of Arkansas. The kickoff event was hosted today and the tour will go onto Friday July 27th. Educators from across the 1st District will tour 18 different factories and see first hand the type of skills and training needed to fill manufacturing jobs in the area.

Crawford released the following statement:

STEM professions are increasingly in demand, yet hundreds of technical jobs remain unfilled even as students graduate without jobs. This tour is about leveraging STEM education to fill jobs and to create an environment of opportunity in the 1st District. I’m happy to play a part in bridging the gap between STEM educators and manufacturers so that students can get the tools needed to join the workforce.”
