Rep. Crawford Statement on September Inflation Report

Washington — The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today that consumer prices are up 8.2% since a year ago, marking the ninth consecutive month of inflation over 7%. Wages after accounting for inflation are now down 3% in the last year. Mortgage rates have soared past 7%. And the Energy Dept. is warning families to expect massive increases in the cost to heat their homes this winter.
Representative Rick Crawford (AR-01) released the following statement in response:
“Bidenflation is continuing to hammer away at families in Arkansas and nationwide. Then the Biden administration insults the American people by dismissing the severity of inflation and denying that our economy is facing a recession. Our nation is in desperate need of leadership that acknowledges the obvious and executes an effective solution.”
