Crawford: Delta Regional Authority to invest $400,000 in Northeast Arkansas Convention Center
Investment will bring 400 jobs to Jonesboro
Washington – Today, the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) announced plans to make a $400,000 investment in the Northeast Arkansas Convention Center to be built in Jonesboro. The financial commitment from the DRA will help bring the long anticipated construction project to fruition. Congressman Rick Crawford (R-Jonesboro) serves as Co-Chair of the Congressional Mississippi River Delta Caucus that works with the Delta Regional Authority to fund local community investment projects.
“The Northeast Arkansas Convention Center will be an economic engine for Jonesboro and our entire region. The Delta Regional Authority’s investment will help create 400 jobs and benefit Arkansas for generations to come,” said Crawford. “I look forward to working with Mayor Perrin to make sure the convention center becomes a reality.”
The Delta Regional Authority encompasses 252 counties spread out over Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee. The mission of the Authority is to support job creation and improve the quality of lives in the rural communities through strategic economic development investments.
