Steel Caucus Leaders Statement on Explosion at U.S. Steel Clairton
Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Rick Crawford (AR-01), Co-Chairman of the Congressional Steel Caucus, along with Rep. Frank J. Mrvan, Vice Chairman of the Congressional Steel Caucus, issued the following statement in response to the explosion at U.S. Steel Clairton Coke Works located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident today at the U.S. Steel Clarion Coke Works plant in Pennsylvania. Our hearts and prayers are with the affected workers and their families, and we are grateful for the first responders, local authorities, and emergency personnel responding to the scene. As leaders of the Congressional Steel Caucus, one of our top priorities is the health and safety of steelworkers. We will continue to stay in contact with USW and US Steel as more details on this incident come to light.”
