Washington, Jun 7 (Prensa Latina) Four Republican legislators highlighted in this capital the importance of greater agricultural trade between Cuba and the United States and the need to reverse Washington”s failed policy toward the island.
Senator John Boozman (Arkansas) and Representatives Rick Crawford (Arkansas), Tom Emmer (Minnesota) and Roger Marshall (Kansas) participated in a panel on trade with Cuba, entitled Foster bilateral agricultural and economic capabilities.
The members of the Congress emphasized that the free agricultural exchange between the neighboring nations constitutes a reciprocal benefit, and for this reason, they pointed out the need to eliminate the restrictions that prevent it.
‘It’s time to put politics aside and do the right thing,’ Marshall said during the event held at McDermott Will & Emery.
In reference to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington on the Caribbean country more than 55 years ago, the representative estimated that when this fence is lifted and there are normal relations, it will be good for the two parties.
