Our District

The First Congressional District of Arkansas is formed by the eastern border of the state, which is formed by the Mississippi River, and part of the northern border. The area includes the state’s rich Delta and part of the Ozarks region. Though the district is home to many small, rural communities, cities such as Jonesboro also call this diverse district home.

The First District is home to a large agricultural community which produces rice, cotton, and soybeans. There is also a notable manufacturing contribution coming from the district as well. Food, consumer products, and other general industry goods are made in this part of Arkansas.

Arkansas is a natural state with a lot of diversity to offer in many different categories. Commerce, recreation, and geography, just to mention a few.

Towns

The First District is filled with much diversity from one establishment to another. Towns such as Pollard, Dell, Lexa and Watson are all small communities with less than 300 residents. While in contrast the district’s largest city, Jonesboro, has a population of around 70,000. Other larger cities in the district include West Memphis, Paragould, and Cabot.

Our district has many different education institutions for students to attend. There are options for technical degrees, as well as Bachelor’s and Master’s programs to choose from. With more than 10 colleges and universities in the area, Arkansas’s First Congressional District offers a wide educational variety.

Arkansas’s First District offers many different things for you and your family to see and do. Whether you want to spend the day fishing and hunting or playing 18 holes of golf and finishing your day up by hiking in search of a great view of the sunset, you can find what you are looking for here.
