Three of four members of the Arkansas congressional delegation have co-sponsored a bill aiming to block federal funding for Planned Parenthood for a year unless the group certifies that it won’t perform or fund abortions.

U.S. Rep. Rick Crawford last week backed HR369, called the “Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2019.” U.S. Reps. Bruce Westerman and French Hill also are listed among 125 co-sponsors.

The bill has been referred to a committee.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America is a nonprofit health provider that offers a variety of services across its clinics, including screenings for some cancers, tests for sexually-transmitted infections, prenatal care and abortions.
