Congressional Steel Caucus Vice-Chairman Crawford Responds to Envirotech Announcement
2/22/2022
Jonesboro — Envirotech Vehicles Inc. announced that they will open a manufacturing facility in Osceola, AR. This new plant will come with 800 jobs for the area. Envirotech will also be the first electric vehicle manufacturer in Arkansas.
Representative Rick Crawford (AR-01), Vice-Chairman of the Congressional Steel Caucus, released the following statement in response to this significant announcement:
“Innovation and new business is continuing to migrate to the First District of Arkansas,” said Rep. Crawford. “Northeast Arkansas is on the shortlist for companies all across America due to a talented workforce and a thriving steel industry – all of which are key ingredients for a new generation of American manufacturing. I have no doubt that Envirotech will enrich Northeast Arkansas and continue to make it a leading destination for manufacturing in the United States.”
Rep. Crawford is the current Vice-Chairman of the Congressional Steel Caucus, on which he has served since 2017. During his time in congress, Rep. Crawford has testified in front of the International Trade Commission denouncing the dumping of steel by countries like Russia, while also advocating for a regulatory environment in which American steel can flourish and be a global market leader.
