Congressman Rick Crawford Applauds Arkansas Broadcasters’ Association for joining FARM Corps efforts

Washington — Today, Arkansas Broadcasters’ Association launched their PSA for FARM Corps. The 30 second PSA informs both farmers and veterans where they can sign-up for the Farm And Ranch Mission program. 

“Whether it’s alerting citizens about tornadoes, or keeping folks up to date on the COVID-19 outbreak, our broadcasters are not just messangers but are a crucial resource to their local communities,” said Crawford. “I’m proud to have such an exceptional group join the efforts to spread the word about FARM Corps.” 

Background: 

Earlier this week, Congressman Crawford announced his FARM Corps initative which links unemployed veterans with farmers who are experiencing labor shortages due to the ongoing pandemic. The current COVID-19 outbreak has caused strict travel restrictions at a time when the nation’s Agriculture producers are both planting fall crops and harvesting summer crops. As a result, many farmers are experiencing large labor shortages in areas where they typically use foriegn labor trhough the H2A visa program.
