Today, House Agriculture Committee Chair Frank Lucas (R-OK) announced that Congressman Rick Crawford will be named Chairman of the Agriculture Committee’s Subcommittee on Livestock, Rural Development and Credit in the 113th Congress.
“Serving as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Livestock, Rural Development and Credit will give me a larger platform to advocate for farm families in Arkansas and across the country,” said Crawford. “It’s an honor to work alongside Chairman Lucas and my colleagues on the Agriculture Committee to ensure American producers can continue producing the safest, most abundant and affordable source of food on the planet.”
Crawford’s subcommittee will have jurisdiction over: livestock, dairy, poultry, meat, seafood and seafood products, inspection, marketing, and promotion of such commodities, aquaculture, animal welfare and grazing, rural development, farm security and family farming matters, and agricultural credit.
