Crawford Questions USDA Secretary Vilsack
Crawford asked Vilsack to explain the impact of the sequester on American farm families
Today, Congressman Rick Crawford (R-AR), questioned USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack during on House Agriculture Committee Hearing on the state of the rural economy. Crawford asked Vilsack about recent reports of the EPA releasing livestock and poultry producers’ personal information and implementation of the FSIS catfish program.
“Secretary Vilsack has not appeared before the House Agriculture Committee in two years. Today’s hearing gave me and my colleagues the chance to question Secretary Vilsack about what USDA is doing to help farm families across the country,” said Crawford. “With the full impact of the sequester still unknown, I will continue fighting to ensure producers in Arkansas are not forgotten. While many in Washington see our part of the country as fly-over country, rural lawmakers much work together to advocate for our constituents unique needs.”
Congressman Rick Crawford represents Arkansas’s First Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. Crawford serves on the Agriculture Committee and the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. On the Agriculture Committee, Crawford is Chairman of the Livestock, Rural Development and Credit Subcommittee. Congressman Crawford and his wife Stacy live in Jonesboro with their two children.
