WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Rick Crawford, (R-AR) reacted to the Obama Administration’s rejection of the Keystone XL Pipeline Project. The project would have built a pipeline from Canada into the United States and provided our country with an alternative to Middle Eastern oil.

“The Keystone Project had the great potential to create thousands of American jobs and make our country less dependent on Middle Eastern oil,” said Crawford. “My constituents need jobs. President Obama’s rejection of the Keystone Project is a major blow to the employees at Welspun in Little Rock who planned to make pipe for the project. President Obama’s rejection of the Keystone Project cost Arkansans jobs.”

Crawford believes that President Obama put environmentalists ahead of American workers with his rejection of the Keystone Pipeline today.

“It is unconscionable to me that President Obama is willing to play election year politics with American jobs. The rejection of the Keystone Project today shows that this administration would rather pander to the environmental lobby than create thousands of new jobs.”
