Crawford seeks Service Academy Applications

Members of Congress can make nominations for Military, Naval, Air Force and Merchant Marine Academies

Today, Congressman Rick Crawford announced he is seeking applications for nomination to U.S. Service Academies. As a Member of Congress, Crawford is able to make nominations for the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

“Attending a Service Academy can be a life changing experience. Students get a world class education and assume a leadership role in the military upon graduation,” said Crawford. “Service Academies attract the best and brightest young people from across the country and I am honored to be able to nominate students who are committed to our nation’s freedoms.”

Young people interested in a nomination must meet the following eligibility requirements for admission to a service academy:
    • He or she must be at least 17 years old
    • He or she must be a United States citizen
    • He or she must be unmarried, not pregnant, and have no legal obligation to support children or other dependents.

Students interested in a nomination should contact Terry Brimhall in Congressman Crawford’s Jonesboro office at 870-203-0540 or terry.brimhall@mail.house.gov. The deadline for nomination applications to Crawford’s office is November 1, 2012.

Congressman Rick Crawford represents Arkansas’ First Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. In the Congress Crawford serves on the Agriculture and Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Crawford and his wife Stacy live in Jonesboro with their two children.
