Crawford Sends Letter to Pelosi Demanding Fauci Investigation

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Rick Crawford (R-Ark.) issued the following statement regarding a letter he and five of his GOP colleagues sent to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urging her to direct the committees of jurisdiction to investigate the contradictions between Dr. Fauci’s emails and his public statements.

“Dr. Fauci was trusted to communicate the most accurate and up to date information on the COVID-19 virus as Americans did their best to protect themselves and loved ones. The recent release of Dr. Fauci’s emails filled with contradictions raises questions about the virus and his true motives. We must hold all government officials accountable and the Chief Medical Advisor is no exception – an investigation into Dr. Fauci is absolutely warranted,” said Rep. Rick Crawford.

“As one of the highest paid government employees, the American people deserve to know if Dr. Fauci profited, knowingly or unknowingly, from his confusing public statements. Too often, public officials betray the public’s trust, and Dr. Fauci’s emails have already indicated he preferred being in the spotlight rather than carrying out his duties honestly and faithfully. I encourage Speaker Pelosi to take appropriate measures to investigate Dr. Fauci and hold him accountable for his actions,” said Rep. Jerry Carl.

“It is clear to me and millions of Americans that Dr. Fauci has no business advising the President or the American people on how to live their lives. He has behaved like an unelected politician time and time again, saying one thing in public and another in private. He is a total hypocrite and needs to be investigated for his role in deceiving the American people,” said Rep. Ronny Jackson.

The letter was cosigned by Reps. Diana Harshbarger (TN-01), Jerry Carl (AL-01), Ronny Jackson (TX-13), Greg Steube (FL-17), and Jody Hice (GA-10).
