WASHINGTON – Congressman Rick Crawford (R-AR) and Congresswoman Susan Davis (D-CA) will host the inaugural event of the recently established House Explosive Ordnance Disposal Caucus tomorrow. The EOD Caucus Demonstration will show Members of Congress and staff the equipment and techniques EOD soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines use to disarm Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

“The work EOD troops do every day is often taken for granted. The EOD Caucus Demonstration tomorrow will give other Members of Congress the chance to learn about the role EOD troops play on the front lines of battle and supporting local law enforcement at home,” said Crawford.

“EOD forces provide a unique and critical service to the Armed Forces and to our nation,” said Davis. “Since World War II, these brave individuals have provided force protection, against any type of explosive device, in the United States and around the world, during peacetime, wartime, or any other contingencies. The EOD Demonstration will show members of Congress their expertise and importance to our nation today and for the future.”

Crawford served as an Army EOD officer.
