Congressman Rick Crawford (R-Ark.) today announced five federal grants for the First Congressional District of Arkansas. The grants are from the Federal Aviation Administration and seek to improve the quality of Arkansas’s airports.

“It is critical that Arkansas airports meet federal safety standards,” said Congressman Rick Crawford. “These grants provide the necessary funding to ensure our First District airports remain safe.”

Below is a brief description of each grant:

Carlisle Municipal: This grant provides funds to improve the pavement structure of the runways at the Carlisle Municipal Airport. The grant is in the amount of $218,669.

Osceola Municipal: This $237,932 grant will bring Runway 1/19’s safety area up to necessary standards and improve the general safety of operations of Osceola Municipal Airport.

Corning Municipal: This grant provides $166,351 to improve the pavement structure of the Corning Municipal Airport Taxiway.

Manila Municipal: This $74,100 grant will better equip Manila Municipal Airport’s runways with a guidance system to allow pilots to access the airport landing strip more easily on approach.
