On Wednesday (July 18), U.S. Rep. Rick Crawford, R-Jonesboro, was appointed by House Speaker Paul Ryan to serve on the Conference Committee for H.R. 2, the Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018, also known as the Farm Bill.
Crawford will work with a group of other appointed members to resolve differences between the Senate and House versions of the bill.
“I look forward to continuing to work on a Farm Bill that provides certainty to our nation’s farmers and producers while they perform a task that is directly correlated with our national security,” Crawford said.
“The final product must be something that provides solutions to the difficulties those living in rural America face. I hope to work quickly and efficiently so that we can get this legislation onto the President’s desk before the current Farm Bill expires on September 30th,” he added.
