Rep. Crawford Announces Staff Changes

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Crawford (AR-01) announced changes and promotions to his Washington, D.C. staff.
“I am excited to announce the following changes to my staff that will give me the additional bandwidth to work on critical issues facing America’s ag-producers. Each of these individuals have displayed incredible insight in not just agriculture but the needs of farmers, ranchers, and rural Americans,” said Crawford. “I look forward to continuing my work for an industry I am passionate about and that plays a vital role in feeding and clothing the world – American agriculture.”
Ashley Shelton, Legislative Director:
Ashley Shelton’s expanded issue portfolio now includes commodity programs, risk management policy, and crop insurance reform – in addition to her existing portfolio of trade, healthcare, and nutrition.
Kathryn King, Legislative Assistant:
Kathryn King’s expanded issue portfolio now includes biosecurity, national security, and agriculture research – in addition to her existing portfolio of rural and economic development.
Brian Lee, Senior Policy Advisor:
Brian Lee joined the office this week as a Senior Policy Advisor. Lee is a native Arkansan and graduated from the University of Arkansas. After college, Lee spent a significant amount of time working across Europe, South and Southeast Asia, and South America. He was also a Fulbright scholar in Austria through the diplomatic Academy of Vienna, and he has worked in capacity building with political leaders and groups in local and regional economies. Lee’s portfolio will include foreign agriculture, market access, and ag-producer assistance policy.
Congressman Crawford represents Arkansas’s First District and announced in 2019 his intent to run for the top Republican spot on the House Agriculture Committee which will become vacant next Congress. Crawford has served as the General Farm Commodities Subcommittee Chairman (2014-2018), Livestock, Rural Development and Credit Subcommittee Chairman (2012-2014) and is also a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. He is currently serving his fifth term in Congress.
