Today, Rep. Rick Crawford (AR-01) was appointed as Vice Republican Leader on the House Agriculture Committee by Republican Leader Glenn “GT” Thompson, of Pennsylvania. Representative Thompson was elected by the Republican Steering Committee in December to lead the Agriculture Committee in the 117th Congress. Representative Crawford will also serve on the following three Subcommittees:
- General Farm Commodities and Risk Management
- Nutrition, Oversight, and Department Operations
- Biotechnology, Horticulture, and Research
“I am honored to have been appointed to this role by Republican Leader Thompson”, said Crawford. “Our nation’s farmers and ranchers continue to demonstrate resilience despite the unforeseen challenges they face on a daily basis. Now, more than ever, we need a secure and stable food supply and I look forward to working with Republican Leader Thompson and all of my friends and colleagues on the Agriculture Committee as we continue to work with our nation’s producers to make American agriculture safe, secure, and enduring for generations to come.”
This marks over 12 years of Representative Crawford serving on the House Agriculture Committee. Crawford has chaired subcommittees which had jurisdiction over matters pertaining to row crops, livestock, rural development, and risk management.
