July 31st, 2020
Washington, DC – This week, Rep. Rick Crawford (AR-01) along with Rep. Steve Cohen (TN-09) introduced the Critical Infrastructure Employee Protection Act of 2020. This legislation requires the Department of Transportation and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to coordinate to ensure that critical infrastructure workers have access to Personal Protective Equipment and COVID-19 testing.
Upon introducing the legislation, Rep. Crawford released the following statement:
“Infrastructure workers have saved this country from the worst of coronavirus. The Critical Infrastructure Employee Protection Act of 2020 will keep our critical workers safe as they continue their work to keep our supply chains intact.”
Rep. Steve Cohen said, “We must do more for our frontline transit workers, who have continued providing essential services, while putting their own lives at risk. I am pleased to introduce the Critical Infrastructure Employee Protection Act of 2020, which will help ensure these critical infrastructure workers have access to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and testing. This will help to strengthen the overall effort to control the pandemic and minimize the spread of COVID-19.”
