Rep. Crawford on Ugly Inflation Report: “further reason we must defeat Biden’s latest inflation stimulus bill this week”

8/10/2022

Washington  The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today that inflation soared over the last 12 months by 8.5%, including a one-third increase in energy prices, and the largest increase in year-over-year food prices since Jimmy Carter was president.

The bad news for America’s middle class families comes as the House prepares to vote this week on a disastrous inflationary bill named by Democrats, in a textbook case of misinformation, the “Inflation Reduction Act.” Their radical bill would spend hundreds of billions of dollars now, with promises to cut spending later, including:

  • One-third of a trillion dollars for the “climate” – including big subsidies for wealthy American to buy pricey Teslas – that will increase energy prices
  • Nearly $80 billion for the IRS to hire a shocking 87,000 new IRS agents to target working families; Democrats boast it will deliver a $124 billion tax increase on US taxpayers
  • Given China’s and India’s rapidly increasing use of coal and other fossil fuels, Biden’s Green Raw Deal will have no measurable impact on global temperatures

“The Biden Democrats are so out of touch with the lives of everyday Americans that they intend to vote to further increase the runaway inflation hammering families and small businesses on Main Streets nationwide,” Representative Rick Crawford (AR-01) responded. “And for middle class families who manage to survive ‘Bidenflation,’ the Democrats are promising 87,000 new IRS agents to wring another $120 billion from taxpayers. No wonder Biden’s poll numbers are at record lows.”
