Rep. Crawford Inducted into Congressional Football Game “Hall of Fame”
9/26/2022
Washington — Last week, Representative Rick Crawford (AR-01) was recognized for his long-time participation at the Congressional Football Game by being inducted into the Congressional Football Game’s “Hall of Fame”. The charity event raised over $400,000 for The Capitol Police Memorial Fund, Our Military Kids, A Advantage 4 Kids, and The Boys and Girls Club this year.
“I’m proud to be a part of the many folks who work hard every year to make the Congressional Football game a successful and enjoyable event. I love playing in this game because our team is bipartisan and helps raise money for worthy causes,” Crawford said.
The Congressional Football Game features Members of Congress as well as retired NFL players facing off against U.S. Capitol Police. It was founded in 2004 to honor and support the men and women of U.S. Capitol Police and the families of fallen officers after Officer Jacob Chestnut and Detective Jacob Gibson heroically gave their lives to protect Members of Congress, Congressional staff, and visitors in the Capitol.
This year, former NFL player and former Congressman Heath Shuler even dusted off his jersey to participate for a good cause. Notable NFL players who attended include Gary Clark, Ray Caldwell, and Hall of Famer Andre Reed.
