Rep. Crawford Visits Southern Border with House Intelligence Committee Members
“No wonder Biden refuses to visit the border”
Washington — On July 21st and 22nd, Representative Rick Crawford (AR-01) and colleagues visited El Paso, TX to tour the southern border and meet with border patrol (CBP) and other officials who have been closely monitoring the crisis there.
Last week, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Mayorkas spoke at a forum in which he once again absurdly claimed that the southern border is secure. However, CBP officials have reported more than two million border encounters over the last 12 months, including a startling number of transnational gang members and known or suspected terrorists. As members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), Crawford, along with Reps. Michael Turner and Brad Wenstrup, wanted to review firsthand the national security threats that could cross over the border and into the United States.
“What border agents reported to us in our meetings confirms that President Biden’s open border policies are a disaster. He has put our national security at risk by refusing to enforce our laws, and Americans are less safe as a result. Violent criminals, gang members, sex traffickers, and others who wish to do us harm have been among the millions who have sought illegal entry into our nation in the last year. No wonder Biden refuses to visit the border,” said Rep. Crawford.
This was Crawford’s second trip to the southern border since President Biden took office.
Biden has never visited the border in his 79 years of life to date, including 36 years as a U.S. Senator, four as Vice President and a year and a half as President. It’s an appalling record of disinterest in our national sovereignty and a failure to protect public safety.
“My advice for President Biden, once he has defeated his Covid infection, is to get off the beaches of Delaware and out of his fake White House set and finally visit the border to engage with our border agents. They have been put in an unenviable position, with minimal resources to do their job effectively and unrelenting hostility from his Administration. I have to believe that if he set foot on ground zero of his border failures, the President would stand up to his ‘no borders’ extremist base, and finally take steps to secure our nation,” Crawford said.
