Rep. Crawford Votes for Economic Aid for Arkansas Farmers
12/20/2024
Washington, D.C. — Representative Rick Crawford (AR-01) released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 10545, the American Relief Act, 2025 on Friday.
“Today, I voted in favor of H.R. 10545, which will avert a government shutdown for the next three months and give President Trump the opportunity to fulfill the mandate for which the American people sent him back to Washington. If the government isn’t open, the President can’t affect the changes Americans want. We can’t let that happen. While I’ve long been an advocate of passing a strong, five-year Farm Bill, I’m pleased that this bill extends the current Farm Bill for another year. This gives us an opportunity to pass a Republican-written bill next year. I’m also pleased that it provides $10 billion in emergency economic relief to farmers who have experienced desperate financial times through no fault of their own. Finally, it helps hard-working American families who have been impacted by hurricanes, floods, and fires this year. I remain optimistic that in the new year, we will be able to tally more victories under the leadership of President Trump and a Republican-controlled Congress,” said Rep. Crawford.
