Crawford Introduces Bill to Keep Men Out of Women's Prisons
Washington, D.C. — Today, Representative Crawford (AR-01) introduced the Preventing Violence Against Female Inmates Act, legislation to prohibit the Bureau of Prisons from housing prisoners with persons of the opposite sex. The legislation would require the Bureau of Prisons to house federal inmates according to their biological sex and would withhold certain federal grants from states that fail to do the same.
