This marks the fourth straight year that President Obama has proposed a budget with over $1 trillion in deficit spending. A budget is a statement of priorities and clearly President Obama has not made deficit reduction a priority. This budget has already been panned as an election year ploy. I genuinely welcome all ideas to table but we cannot play politics with the federal debt that we are passing onto our children. My constituents want responsible action from Washington to address the national debt.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Rick Crawford (R-AR) announced that the Postal Service is delaying all post office closures until next year. No post offices or distribution facilities will be closed or consolidated before May 15, 2012. The Postal Service decided to postpone the closures so that Congress has time to pass postal reform legislation.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Rick Crawford voted to restore discipline and responsibility to Washington. H.R. 2055, The Appropriations Conference Report that passed the House today rolled non-defense spending back to 2008 levels. The Conference Report passed the House with a vote of 296 to 121.

Congressman Rick Crawford today announced his August schedule and public meetings for the First District. The schedule includes 30 destinations throughout the district. Congressman Crawford will meet with constituents and job creators in an effort to form partnerships and build support for the Balanced Budget Amendment. Crawford's goal is to discuss how the Balanced Budget Amendment will address the long term issues of fiscal solvency and will reign in years of out-of-control spending and growth of government.
