Congressman Rick Crawford (R-Ark.) Friday introduced legislation that keeps drug-abusing drivers from operating large trucks.

The Safe Roads Act of 2011 (H.R. 2459) closes a current loophole that is easily exploited by drug-abusing drivers. The Safe Roads Act establishes a central repository of drivers' drug and alcohol test results, which prevents drivers who fail a drug or alcohol test in one state from driving in another.

Congressman Rick Crawford (R-Ark.) urged Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to bring H.R. 872, the Reducing Regulatory Burdens Act of 2011, to the Senate Floor for a vote. The U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry today approved the legislation by voice vote.

Congressman Rick Crawford (R-Ark.) today announced five federal grants for the First Congressional District of Arkansas. The grants are from the Federal Aviation Administration and seek to improve the quality of Arkansas's airports.

"It is critical that Arkansas airports meet federal safety standards," said Congressman Rick Crawford. "These grants provide the necessary funding to ensure our First District airports remain safe."
