WASHINGTON – Tomorrow the Social Security Administration will announce that seniors will see the first cost of living adjustment to their benefits since 2009. Seniors will see a 3.5 percent increase to benefits starting in 2012.

Washington – Today, the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) announced plans to make a $400,000 investment in the Northeast Arkansas Convention Center to be built in Jonesboro. The financial commitment from the DRA will help bring the long anticipated construction project to fruition. Congressman Rick Crawford (R-Jonesboro) serves as Co-Chair of the Congressional Mississippi River Delta Caucus that works with the Delta Regional Authority to fund local community investment projects.

"Today the world learned that Moammar Gadhafi's reign of terror in Libya is officially over. The violence and fear that dominated the Gadhafi regime will no longer haunt the Libyan people. Now that Gadhafi is gone, Libyans can begin the process of forming a united country and rebuilding their economy and future. Today is a good day for freedom-loving people everywhere."

WASHINGTON – After Congressman Rick Crawford (R-AR) introduced H.R. 3158, the Farmers Undertake Environmental Land Stewardship (FUELS) Act, which would modify the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) rule that places an unnecessary burden on farmers and ranchers, the Environmental Protection Agency has now delayed implementation of the rule until May 2013.

Congressman Rick Crawford today announced his August schedule and public meetings for the First District. The schedule includes 30 destinations throughout the district. Congressman Crawford will meet with constituents and job creators in an effort to form partnerships and build support for the Balanced Budget Amendment. Crawford's goal is to discuss how the Balanced Budget Amendment will address the long term issues of fiscal solvency and will reign in years of out-of-control spending and growth of government.
